assets
Speakers: Guy Johnson & Vivienne Winterman
Dates: 23/24 Feb, 16/17 Jun, 27/28 Oct
The knowledge and information audit is a management tool with a serious
business purpose. It plays a crucial role in the development of knowledge
management initiatives. It is invaluable to the development of information
rich activities such as Customer Relationship Management and Freedom of
Information processes. It helps ensure that information and knowledge
services are aligned to critical business needs and it is essential to the
development of information and knowledge strategies. This is a highly
interactive two day course that looks at the audit process in the context of
organisations and helps delegates assess their objectives and select
appropriate approaches for an audit in their organisation. A variety of
techniques are explored, as are the skills required for a successful audit.

Records surveys: identifying information and records to support business
processes
Speakers: Martin Sanderson & Guy Johnson
Dates: 23 Mar, 22 Sep
The records held by an organisation need to be identified and understood in
the context of the business processes they support and the current
information management environment. TFPL have combined their experience and
techniques from carrying out knowledge and information audits with that used
for records surveys. This delivers both a records inventory and information
that is invaluable to the development and implementation of a broader
information strategy. The deliverables are critical to the process of
meeting Freedom of Information requirements and moving from paper to an
electronic environment and also supports Customer Relationship Management.
It provides a platform for the implementation of a records programme in
alignment with business needs and in the context of the organisation and
broader knowledge management strategy. This is a highly practical, one day
course.
