I was under the impression that the capitate may be predisposed to
subluxation due to it's wedged shape. I have seen a small number of
patients that fit the bill clinically and most of them were unable to site a
traumatic incident as the cause. Most cases responded well to a Cyriax
mobilisation described in Elaine Watkins book (sorry I can't remember the
title.)
