Afternoon Session
Projects: bidding, managing and sustaining momentum - Alison MacKenzie
Managing a project with tight deadlines and ambitious aims can be both challenging and rewarding. It can also provoke sleeplessness and blind panic. This session will look at how equilibrium can be achieved. The focus will be on the personal experience of managing the JISC funded projects the Big Blue and its sibling, Big Blue connect.
Setting up a JISC funded service - Jayne Everard
This part of the day will explore the issues specific to setting up a project with the principal aim of creating an ongoing service. Although there are core similarities with managing a finite project, the key differences in terms of longevity and continued success will be explored along with such issues as timescale, creating a service from scratch, continued funding, bids for external funding, marketing and promotion, reporting and evaluation and most importantly ensuring the service is fit for purpose.
