Traumatic Incident Reduction (Basic TIR) - Saturday 28th February, 2004 - A
one day introductory workshop

Training day includes the following and more:

A contextualization of Trauma and TIR

How to perceive if the client is engaged in processing unassimilated
material.

Optimising the client's ability to make progress.

Each attendee will both give and receive real TIR sessions after supervised
practice of a range of skills.

Recognizing cognitive shifts and other optimum points for ending the
session.

A Brief Description of TIR:

Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), is a non-evaluative, client-led
desensitization procedure that enables the client to undo repression and
increase awareness of events that may still effect his present.

This is achieved through a systematic and highly focused inspection, by the
client of his past.

TIR also responds to how traumatic experiences 'network' and identifies
other less obviously related incidents that can be complicit in the
maintenance of symptoms.

Developed by Frank A. Gerbode, M.D., Stephen Bisbey CTS, and others, TIR is
a consistently effective tool in the resolution of most trauma-related
conditions, including PTSD. In competent hands, however, TIR also has
applications in addressing and resolving many other less obviously
trauma-related conditions.

These would certainly include adjustment disorders, acute stress, traumatic
bereavement, mood disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, sexual
abuse, and phobias.

The 'Basic TIR workshop' is the first module of Level 1 TIR training. TIR
Level 1 is completed in the second workshop (6-7th March).

Time: 10am - 6:30pm

Date: Saturday 28th February 2004
