The 2nd Oxford Brookes Conference for New-Media Workers
Thursday 25th - Saturday 27th March, 2004
http://emedia.brookes.ac.uk/dustormagic/
======================================================
WE'RE DELIGHTED TO CONFIRM that Hypertext pioneer
DR THEODOR HOLM (TED) NELSON will address next
month's Oxford Brookes Dust or Magic conference,
in a full programme that includes presentations
on games, social software, children and
computers, the history of the computer medium
and, above all, the struggle to make a living by
making software that delights.
Ted Nelson has been inspiring computer workers
and influencing developments with his radical
alternative visions since the 1960s. His Dust or
Magic presentation will include an update on the
ZigZag system.
> "I have never attended an event marked by so much
> creativity and generosity of spirit among all the
> participants. It was a privilege to be there, and it
> helped recharge my batteries at a moment when
> resourcefulness and invention is required of all of us."
>
> -- Scot Osterweil, creator of "The Zoombinis";
> creative director TERCworks, Cambridge Massachusetts;
> speaker at Dust or Magic 2003
