Conference Announcement and Call for Papers
Deadline for abstracts - 23rd February 2004
Re: Visions II: Broadcasting Histories
Department of Humanities
University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK
1 - 2 July 2004
Following the success of the international conference on broadcasting
archaeologies, histories, impacts and futures in June 2002, we are
calling for papers for a second conference on broadcasting histories
taking place in June 2004. The previous conference produced a
significant number of papers on radio as well as television and we
welcome papers which cover both media or which examine their
relationship through broadcasting history. Though we welcome papers on
any and every aspect of domestic and international broadcasting history,
we are particularly keen to examine aspects of children, radio and
television, television and radio comedy, as well as television and radio
drama.
This conference aims to encourage a wide range of papers which
contribute to the emerging debate about broadcasting histories, as well
as papers which, through an awareness of past developments in
broadcasting, make informed comments on contemporary and future
developments, from the local to the global.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Papers are invited which cover domestic and international broadcasting
history, with particular interest in aspects of children's programmes,
radio and television, television and radio comedy, as well as television
and radio drama.
