-can't be used with butterflies or venflons (whereas monojet has an adaptor
and can be used as a normal syringe)
You must work in places where they don't have adaptors as I have
used vacutainers with venflons and with butterflies on loads of occasions
- frequently needs to be used as an 'open' system by injecting from a normal
syringe into the tube (monojet does not have this problem, as it can always
be used as a closed system)
Maybe a lot of you haven't used them enough! I still take blood a
lot working at the coal face, and I can not remember the last time I needed
to inject into them with a needle. Always manage to get blood using the
closed system. I have just started over the last three weeks using the other
system, I that is not a bad system either. Can you take blood cultures using
the ?monojet system, I know you can with vacutainers.
I'm amazed no-one has sued the company yet.
Sued for what? Injecting into the bottles would not be recommended
by the manufactures so doing it would be at your own risk.
