The next meeting of the Records Management Society Local Government Group
will take place on WEDNESDAY 10TH MARCH at Westminster Archives Centre.
We have decided to experiment with a slightly different format for this
meeting and we are hoping to have a document to publish on the web-site at
the end of the day.
We are planning to focus on best practice for information audits during the
day and at the end we would like to be able to issue a set of best practice
guidelines for information audits.
The format of the day will be roughly as follows:
10:00am:Welcome and coffee
10:30am: Sharing case studies and experience in completing information
audits. [We need some volunteers to bring a case study with them and
present it to the group for about 10-15 minutes]
There will be a coffee/comfort break in this time
12:30pm: Sandwich lunch (provided free of charge)
1:30pm (approx): The meeting will reconvene to discuss best practice and
start to put together a document outlining best practice.
3:30pm (approx): Brief resume of LGG business and a review of the day. Also
a decision will need to be made about the next topic for discussion.
There are a number of ways members can contribute.
I would be happy to receive any documents people might wish to share (all
input will be acknowledged);
I would love to hear from anyone who has a case study they would be
prepared to present;
By attending the meeting and contributing to the discussion and formulation
of the document.
If you would like to do any or indeed all of these please contact
[log in to unmask] off list. As the seating in the room is
limited I'd be grateful if you ask to attend the meeting and then are
unable to, that you let me know as soon as you are able (I realise that
things crop up at the last minute) so that I am aware of how many people
are likely to be attending.
