SUBJECT: Educational Internships and Russian language courses in Izhevsk, Russia
The Educational Institution "Santa Lingua", the State Committee of Youth Affairs (Udmurt Republic,
Russia) and the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Udmurt Republic, Russia, is offering a wonderful
opportunity of spending from 3 weeks up to a year in Russia for students, interested in learning
Russian language and culture.
"Santa Lingua" is an educational institution. What we do is exercising a creative approach to
learning foreign languages. Our everyday routine involves language courses (English, German,
Spanish, Italian and French), camp-sessions, which we organize during every school vacation (7
sessions usually, of various lengths), and international work and study programs for young people.
You might find more information about "Santa Lingua" on our website: www.santalingua.ru
We have been hosting students from Europe and USA for 10 years. We have been partners with Brigham
Young University of Utah (USA), TU Braunschweig (Germany), Institut fuer Deutsch als Fremdsprache
der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet (Germany), Glasgow State University (UK). Young people come to
share their home culture and get to know Russian culture, acquire new friends and get the
professional experience. They also learn Russian as a second language with the help of professional
Russian instructors.
EDUCATIONAL INTERNSHIPS
What we will expect a foreign student to do in "Santa Lingua" is:
1) During the academic year - to teach English (or German, Spanish, Italian and French) to
elementary, pre-intermediate and intermediate students aged 13-17.
2) During the camp-sessions - to hold the duties of a camp-counselor, which includes looking
after kids, preparing and rehearsing stage-shows with them, teaching two English (or another
language) classes and also one Drama lesson (also in the language studied) every day. Every group
put up a play at the final show at the end of the camp session.
3) Office work includes designing teaching programs. If a student knows how to work with I-net
sites, he/she might as well help us in upgrading our site and browse the net for various grants and
scholarships that we might find useful for our educational institution.
RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES
A 3-week course includes:
- 45 hours of Russian classes
- Learning materials
- 4 excursions: Izhevsk, Glazov, Votkinsk and Sarapul
- Cultural and recreational program
- Round way ticket Moscow-Izhevsk-Moscow
Course prices depend on the accommodation (living in the camp buildings, with the host family or in
the apartment in the city). For more information and prices mail to [log in to unmask]
