Hi
The EEVL classification system is based on Ei, but is only based
on it and does not follow it strictly, although we try to do so where
it is appropriate for the range of resources we are cataloguing.
When we reorganised the Construction section a while ago, we
looked at and adapted:

The Construction Industry Information Group produces a
classification scheme - for more information, see:
http://www.ciig.org.uk/visitors/publications.htm#CIIG%20Manual%A
0
We also have a paper copy of the FINDEX : facet-oriented indexing
system for architecture and construction engineering : a
systematic collection of terms for classification and searching of
building informations : systematic and alphabetic part
but this is out-of-print, and I don't know how widely this is used.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards
Linda
