HEAD OF RECORDS SERVICES (BAND E)
INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE
MANAGEMENT DIVISION
Pay Band Range £26,688 - £35,214 per annum
(Recruitment will be at or near the minimum of the pay band)
Records Services are the foundation of an organisations information and
knowledge management success. In the Welsh Assembly Government
we’re seeking an enthusiastic leader for our Records Service to work with
colleagues in the Information and Knowledge Management Division to
provide the best possible information and knowledge systems.
You will be an experienced information and records manager with the
drive and enthusiasm to play the major role in the delivery of effective
records management for the Assembly, and in enabling compliance with
information legislation. You will play a major role in the introduction and
diffusion of an Electronic Records Management system. The post holder
will also benefit from the support of senior management, who are
committed to efficient, effective Records Services.
Records Service is a team of 37 staff, and as Head of the Service you’ll:
• Have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
• Demonstrate a commitment to training and the professional
development of staff;
• Hold knowledge of relevant information legislation such as the Public
Records Act and the Lord Chancellor’s Code of Practice on the
Management of Records under the Freedom of Information Act would
be desirable;
• Hold a recognised qualification in information management,
librarianship, archives or records management (or working
towards/willing to work towards a qualification) or at least 3 years’
experience in records/information management work is essential;
• Have good management of customer services and a commitment to
achieving excellent customer service and
• Demonstrate good communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate that you meet the National Assembly for Wales core
competencies for the band of this position (level 3).
