This advert might be of interest to people on the Med Soc list - or
their colleagues, friends or contacts? We'd be very grateful if you
could pass it on to anyone who you think might be interested.
DIPEx (personal experiences of health and illness) are looking for a
volunteer to join their steering group. DIPEx is a charity with a
research group based in the Department of Primary Health Care in the
University of Oxford. We collect narrative interviews with people about
their experiences of illness or health issues for a website at
www.dipex.org. The DIPEx steering group comprises the co-founders
(Andrew Herxheimer and Ann McPherson, who is also the medical director),
Rachel Miller (medical consultant) Sue Ziebland (research director) a
senior member of the research team (Alison Chapple) and the charity
director (Jane Williams). The group is responsible for the strategic
planning for the project, supervising the research group and encouraging
collaborations with other research groups in the UK and abroad.
We are keen to find a person with some experience of major illness - as
a patient or carer - to participate in the steering group. We meet for 2
hours every 4-6 weeks, in Oxford or London, and would be able to pay
travelling expenses. If you would like to join us, please send a short
profile (A4 or less) explaining how your experience equips you for the
post, to [log in to unmask] .
Closing Date 30th January 2004
