Diversity and Debate in Alternative and Complementary Medicine:
An academic & experiential conference for researchers & practitioners
Nottingham University, 1st-2nd July, 2004
Organised by the Alternative & Complementary Health Research Network.
Call for papers, posters, research methods & experiential workshops
Following on from the highly successful 2001 seminar series "Developing the
Research Agenda in Complementary & Alternative Medicine." This ACHRN
conference will provide a forum for those interested or involved in
Alternative Medicine to stimulate debate on diverse & innovative research
approaches relevant to alternative health theory and practice. There will
be opportunities to present, explore, develop and learn about the diversity
of potential research methods and theoretical approaches and their
application to alternative medicines. In addition to conference papers we
are inviting research methods training, experiential alternative medicine
workshops, or demonstrations of therapies. Attendance will be charged on a
sliding scale according to income and institutional support.
We invite abstracts up to 300 words for research papers, posters, research
methods & experiential workshops. Indication should be made as to whether
authors prefer to present a written paper, a poster, workshop, or
demonstration of therapeutic technique. Deadline for submission of
abstracts/ proposals: March 15th 2004. Include name, job title,

conference environment
ACHRN: Etablished in 1996 by a group of academic social scientists and
health researchers, located within multiple UK institutions, ACHRN aims to
provide a forum for members (academic researchers, postgraduate students,
alternative medicine practitioners, NHS and voluntary sector staff, and
service users) to present their research, and to stimulate debate and
dialogue on critical research issues in the wider alternative medicine
