Of course what is missing is over and under
Canal over bridge and railway under bridge would point to the same
item!

A philosophical question for you all. Is a bridge built to carry a
road
across a canal and later extended to carry it over a railway, a road
bridge, a canal bridge or a railway bridge - or all three. The
definitions in the NMR thesaurus are to my mind inconsistent on this.
A
road bridge is 'a bridge carrying a road over land or water' which
seems
fine but whereas a canal bridge is 'a bridge over a canal', a railway
bridge is 'a bridge carrying a railway track across a river, valley,
road etc'.
Hence my example seems to be a road bridge and a canal bridge but not
a
railway bridge!
