Hi Mandy,
We tried Academy Open Mornings,(with coffee and biscuits) where we showed relevant materials to each Academy. The Fenc and Nln materials were well received and are still being used in lessons.
In September, we piloted our VLE for Key Skills use initially, so all students are using it once a week. With the benefit of hindsight, we have learnt that it is better for staff to be involved more than once a week, i.e. so they get familiar with the Key Skills syllabus. For the new academic year, we have appointed some dedicated Key Skills staff who will work for several hours each week with the students and the VLE.
Hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Susan

Subject: [VLES] Engaging staff!
Hi everyone,
We are slowly phasing in Learnwise at Birkenhead Sixth Form College, and are
trying to 'sell it' to our teaching staff. I was wondering whether anyone
had any examples of how they had successfully engaged some (more reluctant)
staff to embrace using the VLE, or examples of what hasn't really worked?
Any suggestions or examples very gratefully received!
Thanks in advance
Mandy
