Consumers' Understanding of Complex Pricing/Tariffs Structure - Request
for Information
The Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, is embarking
upon a piece of work for the DfT as part of the Road Pricing Feasibility
Study. Our brief is to review the existing literature on,
1) People's ability to understand and interpret pricing/tariff structures
with particular reference to the telecommunications sector, the utilities
sector and the transport sector; and,
2) How they react when faced with a range of tariffs, from the very simple
(London Congestion Charging scheme) to the very complex (mobile phones).
Any information on relevant studies or sources to chase would be greatly
appreciated.
Kind regards
Jeremy Shires
