See the "Special Event Transport Management" chapter of our Online TDM
Encyclopedia (http://www.vtpi.org/tdm/tdm48.htm), which includes some
information on reducing traffic during highway construction projects. It is
increasingly common during major North American highway projects to
encourage travelers to use alternative forms of transportation, and to
offer special bus and rideshare services on that corridor.
