Changing Travel Behaviour - the ESRC TSU final event
London, Monday 20th September 2004
In 1994 the Economic and Social Research Council designated its research
centre in the field of transport, the ESRC Transport Studies Unit. Work
began at Oxford University, and in 1996 moved to University College London.
In 2004 the ESRC-funded programme comes to an end.
We are now organising our final event, to discuss ten years of transport
research and its effect on transport policy
Recurrent themes in our research have been monitoring and understanding the
real effects on travel behaviour of policies intended to change it -
favouring dynamic methods of analysis which recognise behaviour is always
in a process of change for other reasons also. As well as reports from the
research team, there will be favourable and critical responses from other
researchers, professionals and politicians, debate on priorities for the
next ten years, and plenty of time for informal discussion.
With the generous support of the ESRC (and some other sponsors still
sought), the entire event will be free - including refreshments, lunch and
an evening reception, drinks and buffet.
Admission will be by invitation only, with most tickets on a first-come
first-served basis. Please do not reply to this message now - registration
is through the event website www.cts.ucl.ac.uk/tsu/conference. You are
warmly invited to register and to put this date in your diary.
Best regards from the research staff of the ESRC Transport Studies Unit,
