Research Associate
Salary in the range £21,368 - £25,751 per annum
A fixed term appointment initially for 15 months
A Research Associate with good quantitative skills is required to support a number of research projects in the fields of travel demand, network analysis and traffic signal control. Projects in need of quantitative support include a study of the demand for special transport services by people with disability in relation to subsidy provision, the optimisation of sensor location in road networks, and the control of traffic signals to satisfy a range of objectives.
An interest, but not necessarily a track record, in transport systems, their analysis and their control, is essential. Knowledge of statistical and/or operations research methods is desirable.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a numerate subject and will be expected to conduct research independently, write papers and make presentations at conference.
