Can anyone recommend any published research on the use of long
pedestrian and cycle bridges?
We are looking at ways to minimise perceptual and physical barriers to
the use of very long pedestrian bridges and we would be very keen to
learn from others' experience (good and bad). There are a lot of
interesting questions about how best to design bridges that are more
than 400m long, e.g. the effect of curved walkways vs direct walkways,
landing treatments etc. However, there doesn't seem to be much research
out there. Has anyone done any work on this or got any comments?
Kind regards,
