PROFESSORSHIP IN SUSTAINABLE URBAN
TRANSPORT, FUNDED BY THE NORWEGIAN MINISTRY
OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS
The position is allocated to sustainable urban transport, with primary emphasis on
transport economics, including transport demand modelling. The nature of urban
transport challenges may call for multidisciplinary approaches, such as in connection
with physical planning or addressing environmental consequences of different urban
transport policies. Therefore, the appointed person should have the main
competence within transport economics, but also be capable of conducting research
in several disciplines.
Professional qualifications
The applicant should be able to document formal qualifications according to national
and international practice for a professorship. If the applicants do not comply with the
demanded expertise and pedagogical qualifications, the position may be converted
into a professor fellowship, in order to establish the qualifications required for the
professorship. Teaching duties and the length of such a fellowship will be determined
by the university college based on an individual assessment.
Pedagogical qualifications
Teaching experience and other kinds of communication skills will be considered
important. Candidates for the position may be called in for an interview or a test
lecture.
