NAPIER UNIVERSITY, EDINBURGH
SCHOOL OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT / TRANSPORT RESEARCH INSTITUTE
RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP IN TRANSPORT MODELLING
Applications are invited from suitably qualified graduates, holding a
first or upper second class degree (or equivalent), for a postgraduate
research studentship in the area of transport modelling. The studentship
is for a period of three years starting in autumn 2004, and will be funded
by the School of the Built Environment, which is a key member of the
university’s Transport Research Institute (TRI). The topic of research
will either be: dynamic stochastic traffic assignment and departure time
choice modelling; or methods for measuring and accelerating convergence in
Monte Carlo-based stochastic user equilibrium traffic assignment.
To obtain more information on the School’s and TRI’s current research
activities, potential applicants are encouraged to visit the relevant
websites (sbe.napier.ac.uk and tri.napier.ac.uk). For further information
on the above research projects, contact Professor Mike Maher
([log in to unmask]). Applicants should send their CV plus covering
letter to Professor Maher at School of the Built Environment, Napier
University, 10 Colinton Road, Edinburgh EH10 5DT.
