ITS Summer Course at MIT
Modeling and Simulation for Intelligent Transportation Systems: August 2 -
6, 2004.
This one-week program covers in depth the traffic models and methods used
to design, evaluate and operate real-time traffic management
systems. Taught by Professor Moshe Ben-Akiva and visiting lecturers, this
course draws heavily on the results of recent research and is sponsored by
the Intelligent Transportation Systems Program at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. Participants learn about the theory and
applications of traffic models including origin-destination estimation and
prediction for real-time applications; traffic flow models and simulation
methods; dynamic traffic assignment methods; and traffic control and route
guidance systems.
The program includes software demonstrations and examples from recent
applications.
