Dear researcher
It was suggested you might be prepared to help me with some market research
by offering some comments relating to a proposed product release from Sira,
the Kent based technology company. It has not been possible attach the data
sheet to this message as hoped so please follow the instructions below to
obtain your copy or view the leaflet via our web site on the following URL.

The proposed product is called VPEMS (Vehicle Performance and Emission
Monitoring System) which for the first time makes it possible to collect,
record and map vehicle performance and associated emission data, under real
driving conditions. VPEMS is the result of a 3 year research programme
conducted by Sira and Imperial College London and which was sponsoured by
the UK's Vehicle Foresight Programme. As a research tool VPEMS allows
vehicle performance and environmental data to be gathered under dynamic
conditions and so aid the understanding of how traffic related issues,
driver behavior, and vehicle emissions really contribute to the overall
pollution landscape, and more importantly, what might possibly be done
about it for the future.
We have prepared a document (please request a copy) that outlines the
features and benefits of the technology and while reading it, may I
request that you consider the following questions and provide me with some
feed back.
1) Do you agree with the basic hypothesis that justifies the need for this
type of technology?
2) How might such a device be used or adapted to aid transport studies
and / or air quality research?
3) On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely is it that research would benefit from
a tool such as VPEMS within the next 5 years. Assume that a scale of 1 is
low probability and that a scale of 10 might suggest there a need now.
4) Would you be interested in a working demonstration? A number of
functional prototypes have been produced and some are actively engaged in
research at Imperial (contact Dr Washington Ochieng

Thank you for your time and assistance and please do contact myself , Dr
Ochieng or Dr Lesley Hanna [log in to unmask] if we can offer any
clarification or answer any questions you may have.
Kindest regards
