Thanks to those of you who have provided information in response to our
request. Just to clarify as a number have quite rightly ask for more
information. My colleague writes her clarification of what is meant by
'the overground'. Hope this sparks some more thoughts.
Dear All,
'The overground' bus network is a new system that has been created to
make buses more user-friendly. The bus routes follow a 'tube-style' map,
making it more clear and concise, showing where changeovers may be
needed etc. The buses are also usually colour-coded, according to what
'line' they are on. In addition, the overground system aims at
delivering more frequent buses, at popular routes. This of course may
have the problem of marginalising certain parts of the population if the
new network no longer serves them as well.
I hope that clears up any confusion!
