The programme will include general sessions on cycling and travel plans, five case studies of good practice and workshops to discuss practical experience in more details and its applicability as well.
Conference aims:
* To examine the issues relating to the provision for cycling in workplace travel plans
* To examine the need for specific promotion of cycling measures in travel plans
* To analyse the variety and quality of cycling measures in workplace travel plans and their lessons for promoting good practice more widely
* To identify examples of what has actually worked in encouraging more cycling, to work and at work, and showing how this success has been measured and is ongoing
* To encourage closer cooperation between local authority cycling officers and travel plan officers
* To discuss the contribution of travel plans to wider local transport plans and local cycling strategies and to helping businesses operate more efficiently
* To illustrate the value of partnerships and user participation in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of travel plans
The Conference will be of interest to:
* Local authority officers involved in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of travel plans
* Other public (including NHS) and private sector organisation travel plan coordinators
* Local authority cycle planning and sustainable transport officers
* Large, medium and small-scale employers
* Local authority councillors
* Consultants and other organisations engaged on travel plan and other alternative travel promotion work
* Representatives of cycle users, and other transport and environmental groups
