Dear Colleagues,
I would like to draw your attention to the EGS-AGU-EUG Assembly to be
held in Wien, Austria, 24 - 29 April 2005 and particularly to the
following session focused on urban hydrology topics:
HS18 Storm related risk management in the urban environment
Convener: Aronica, G.
Co-Convener: Maglionico, M.; Rauch, W.
Event Information
Management of risks related to storm events is a key issue in many
problems of urban environment hydrology. All hydrological processes in
the urban and suburban environments must be considered at much smaller
temporal and spatial scales than in natural areas. In this session we
welcome research and application papers dealing with modelling of
hydrological quali-quantitative processes in the urban environment,
especially in the framework of a physically-based and distributed
approach, both single and/or continuous event based modelling. Also, we
would appreciate to receive contributions dealing with quality and
reliability of data input and effects of their uncertainties on the
model accuracy, storms forecasting methods suited for urban hydrology,
water quality monitoring. Effects of climate change and land use change
scenarios due to anthropogenic effects on urban waters will also be covered.
If you are interested and you are working on these topics we'll be glad
to receive your abstracts.
The various deadlines are:
1. Deadline for Support Application: 07 January 2005
2. Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: 21 January 2005
3. Letter of Acceptance to Key-Authors: 06 February 2005
4. Deadline for Pre-Registration: 08 April 2005
We are looking forward to seeing you in Wien next year.
Sincerely yours
Giuseppe Aronica
Marco Maglionico
Wolfgang Rauch
