Dear all,
Just to let you know about three things:
- There is a new news item on the GridPP website:
UK particle physics Grid takes shape
http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/news/-1084977996.654361.wlg
- Networks for Non-Networkers - a free workshop at UCL, 13- 14 July 2004
http://grid.ucl.ac.uk/NFNN.html
Networks for Non-Networkers (NFNN) is a two day workshop for people
working at the technical level, in high-bandwidth dependant science. It
is not aimed at network researchers or networking experts, but at people
trying to use the network for science. Through a series of presentations
from experts in their field, NFNN will show how end-users can obtain
higher network performance for their applications from the various
international networks they use. It will be of particular interest to
those working with high-bandwidth Grid projects.
- A half day conference - CERN: The Future of Information Technology,
QEII Conference Centre, London, 27 May 2004
http://www.pparc.ac.uk/In/CERNIT.asp
A special event to promote the contribution of Particle Physics IT to
the broader IT community and industry. CERN: The Future of Information
Technology will highlight the key areas of distributed computing and
enterprise applications to Information and Communication Technology
companies. It is primarily aimed at industry, but is open to all
interested researchers.
Please let me know if you have any meetings or events that you'd liked
added to the GridPP meetings page (http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/meetings).
Thanks.
Best wishes,
Sarah
