recently-released shortlist for this year's £2,000 Jerwood Aldeburgh First
Collection Prize.

The judges - Michael Laskey (Chairman), Libby Purves and Christopher Reid -
read 49 entries, the most we've ever received.

The winner - who will also receive a paid invitation to read at the 2005
Aldeburgh Poetry Festival - will be announced as part of this year's First
Collection reading at the Festival, on Saturday 6 November.
