Biscuit Celebrates Poetry

at the Literary & Philosophical Society, Newcastle upon Tyne

Maureen Almond's new collection THE WORKS is launched.

Angela Readman will receive her cheque for £1,000 as Outright Winner of the
Biscuit Poetry Competition 2004. Presented by Kevin Cadwallender.

Ten poets from the "Top 20" list in the same competion will perform some of
there work.  They are - John Cartmel-Crossley; A C Clarke; Honor Donnelly;
Fiona Durance; Kate Fox; Asit Maitra; Matt Merritt; Keith Porritt; Marlynn
Rosario; J Dalton-Taylor.

Please join us. There'll be fine wine and free hula hoops during the
intermission.
