As to the punctuation, my old bugbear, I continue to
use apostrophes to mar k abbreviations because I can't
make sense of the word when reading otherwise, and
continue to capitalise the first person 'I' because
after considering crit it seemed to make sense to do
so. The other caps I have used in this piece relate to
formal procedures under the Mental Health Act -
Request, Recommendation etc I thought it made more
sense to capitalise, particularly as other countries
may not have the same thing - I wanted to show somehow
that the terms meants something beyond the mere word.
Does that work?
works for me, frank, but u may recall that i often get
in tangles about the cap issue, too.
i greatly admire ur attitude, and your intentions &
ideas. can't remember if i ever told u, but i worked
as a substance abuse counselor for many, amny years,
and during one interium of feeling especially burned
out, i got the notionthat a transfer to the psych
ward, where i got trained as a psych tech, would be,
somehow less painful. Wow, was i in for a surprise. I
managed to stay there for a few years, but.... and
funny, not ha ha, how so many of the "Psych" pts were
the same young, terribly young folk, who...only wanted
to experiment with one chemical or another, and wham!
of course, some stayed on those "short" trips, in
padded cells, until they died. er, sorry about the
rant, really only meant to let u know how much i
appreciate your work work as well as ur poetry re:
same. glad you're still up for it
take care
