Hi Sirrus, thanks for the comments. Yes, this is essentially imagist
poetry. It is also normally multi-authorial.
Japanese linked verse aesthetics point out that the real import of a
piece lies not in the stated content of any given verse but rather in
the transitions between them. In the last century a number of
parallels were drawn with the work of Eisentstein.
In terms of 'message' the dynamic of 'link and shift' means that there
can be no direct narrative, polemical or thematic development.
Soundbite: Renku is the poetry of symphony rather than syllogism.
