Peter,
The file /stardev/ix86_Linux should now be created when the build is
successful. The string "Built on DDMMYY" will be in the file.

Yes, that's true, but it's tricky to write an rsync script that could find
this and then work out whether it applied to the current version of
/stardev. It's far easier if /stardev has this information stamped into
it.
