Computer Scientific Analyst
Kelly Services, a leader in the Staffing Services Industry, has an immediate
opening for a Computer Scientific Analyst to work with our client, The
National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland.
Responsibilities include:
Develops and maintains an integrated system for databasing, standardized
analysis, distribution and quality control of high-volume neuroimaging data.
Develops and maintains the integration with genomic datasets and task
development.
Provides assistance to one or more senior investigators.
Trains other members in procedures as appropriate.
Formulates research goals in the context of the laboratory's overall research
program through discussions with individuals collaborating on these projects.
Develops and performs a variety of complex experimental techniques and
procedures in support of the laboratory investigations.
Develops, validates, performs and interprets a variety of complex experimental
techniques and procedures; searches all pertinent literature and references;
devises, modifies and performs the analyses; evaluates and interprets the
data; makes modifications as needed; communicates results and methods in
reports, presentations, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
Upon completion of experiments, actively participates and collaborates in the
preparation of scientific publications based on the results; documents
information on procedures, modifications and methods for input into final
publication and presentations of findings at local, national and
international meetings (identifying himself/herself as a contractor).
Qualifications:
Experienced in UNIX, database design and implementation, scripting and
scientific computing platforms such as MATLAB.
Expert knowledge in neuroimaging analysis platforms such as SPM, AFNI and
computational statistics.
Professional knowledge of molecular biology and the theories, principles,
methods and molecular biological and histological techniques in both animal
and human samples.
Professional knowledge of neurobiology and biomedical research. Extensive
experience on literature and library searches, record keeping, and
statistical data analysis.
