Three Lectureships in Chemistry
Senior Lectureship/Readership in Biophysical Chemistry
The University of Birmingham seeks to appoint two Professors of Chemistry,
three Lecturers in Chemistry and a Senior Lecturer/Reader in Biophysical
Chemistry as part of its strategic plan. Each appointee will be capable of
directing an original and lively research programme and applicants with
interests in physical chemistry are particularly welcome for one Chair and
two Lectureship appointments and in organic chemistry for one lectureship.
The overriding criterion for appointments will be research excellence and
all appointees will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and
postgraduate training. Outstanding candidates may be appointed to the
Mason Chair or the newly-created Haworth Chair.
Senior Lectureship/ Readership in Biophysical Chemistry Reference S36713
A senior position is immediately available for a chemist, wishing to build
on an already successful research career in an area of activity at the
interface with the biomedical sciences. This position will be focussed on
research. Preference will be given to candidates applying chemical
techniques to the study of biological structures/processes.
Lectureships - Reference S36664
Starting salary on scale £22,191-£39,958 a year depending on experience,
qualifications and post applied for. Posts are available from 1 September
2004 and are offered on the basis of an open contract.
