To return to the original question briefly -- as Bill suggests, the Space
Syntax Symposia do have many papers on the subject. I would look at
Fabiano Sobreiro's paper in the last syposium, who looks at the development
of squatter settlements. I'd also suggest my own paper at the conference,
which looks at 'games' between agents representing people and artworks that
rearrange themselves, although in the light of what Alan Beattie has
written, it might seem a little naive.
