Announcement and Call for Papers
Internationational Workshop on 'Agent-Based Models for Economic Policy
Design' (ACEPOL05)
http://www.wiwi.uni-bielefeld.de/~dawid/acepol/
to be held at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (ZiF) at Bielefeld
University from June 30, 2005 - July, 2, 2005.
Funded by the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (ZiF) and Bielefeld
University.
*Aims and Scope:*
The goal of the workshop is to assess and further advance the
usefulness of agent-based computational models for the evaluation
and design of economic policy measures. An increasing number of
scholars has started to use an agent-based computational economics (ACE)
approach as a normative tool to construct and evaluate market designs
as well as public policy measures in simulated economic environments.
The workshop should provide a platform to discuss the potential of the
approach in this domain and deal with important challenges on the path to
make agent-based simulation models an applicable and useful tool for
actual decision support. We hope to be able to attract researchers from
different fields like economics, computer science or social sciences in
order to encourage interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.
Contributions from a number of fields are welcome. Topics might include:
- Applications of ACE models for simulation and design of markets,
industries or economic systems
- Applications of ACE models to address economic policy issues
- Design-issues of ACE models
- Calibration and empirical validation of ACE models
- ACE Models and experimental evidence
- Robustness of ACE-based recommendations
- Methods for ACE modelling
- Critical discussion of the ACE approach and/or comparison with other
approaches
- ....
