Friends
Apologies for encroaching again upon your air space, but this is a crucial
reminder:
All of the groups at the end of this message have called for a NO vote, and
most of the organisations (e.g., National Women's Council, National Youth
Council, Irich Council for Civil Liberties, the Children's Rights Alliance
etc) have information on their websites as to why they are calling for a NO
vote.
Tomorrows vote is a very serious one - for the Constitution, for the Good
Friday Agreement, for democracy and the attempts to subvert real
participative democracy through squashing debate, rushing through serious
change in violation of all proper process, and providing false information,
and for all the new communities in Ireland. Remember racism has increased
since the referendum was mooted - see today's The Star for a story of the
attack on a 26 years old South African technician working legally in
Ireland - he was beaten to a pulp by six Irish youths shouting 'f... off
your black bastard'... such attacks have become commonplace in recent weeks.
Please do use your vote wisely and vote NO and please encourage all your
colleagues, friends and family to vote and to vote NO. I would hate to see
a Yes vote win through votes being cast on the basis of mis information, or
apathy.
