I have today subscribed to the Royal Musical Asoociation List for the first
time. For some time I have been trying to locate the archives of the T.M.P.S.
without a great deal of success.
I am researching the career of the pianist Gwendoline Warren (1899-1987), who
studied and later taught at the T.M.P.S. from around the mid 1920s to the
closure of the School in the 1940s. I am particularly interesting in finding the
staff registers, student records, minute books and past copies of the T.M.P.S.
School Magazine.
My research is not part of an academic programme. As a fellow musician
(volinist and pianist) I am interested in the teaching ideas of Professor Tobias
Matthay. If anybody can 'throw a light' on wherabouts of these archives I would
like to hear from you. Thank you.
Regards
Gillian Smith (Mrs) ALCM Cumbria, U.K.
