Daphne Jackson Trust Open Day
The Daphne Jackson Trust runs a successful scheme to return scientists,
engineers and technologists to their careers following a break for family
reasons.
Please come along to the Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London on
Wednesday 28th July 2004 between 12.00 noon and 4.00pm to find out about the
Daphne Jackson Trust and what it does.
There will be displays and information about the work of the Trust, and staff
and Fellows will be available to speak about their experiences.
This is an informal 'drop-in' event to raise awareness of the Daphne Jackson
Trust among scientists, engineers and technologists, potential Sponsors and
Fellows, supervisors and host institutions.
We are very happy for you to bring colleagues or pass this invitation on.

Following the Open Day..
The Daphne Jackson Trust is collaborating with the Institute of Physics and
Athena to put on an event showcasing a range of initiatives to support women
in SET careers on 28 July 2004.
3.45 pm - 4.00 pm Tea and coffee
4.00 pm onwards Presentations and Discussions,
followed by a drinks reception
The presentations will include:
a.. The launch of the report on the Institute's recent membership survey on
career break management. There will be an opportunity to discuss the
conclusions and follow-up actions
b.. The launch of the Athena ASSET survey on motivations, experiences and
attitudes of women in SET industries. An overview of the results of the
university survey will be presented and views will be sought on finalising the
survey for use in industry and business.
All attendees to the Open Day are invited to the presentations, discussions
and drinks reception from 4.00pm, however, for catering purposes please let us
know if you will be attending the presentations and reception.
