Make your mark on science education
Programme Director
Up to £40,000 pa
Science Learning Centres South West aims to deliver high quality continuing
professional development to science teachers and technicians, from Primary
to post-16 education. It is delivered by a consortium of At-Bristol (the
award winning science and discovery centre), the University of Bristol and
the University of Plymouth and is part of the National Network of Science
Learning Centres.
Assuming day-to-day management responsibility for the centre, you will work
closely with the Director, Management Group and the centre's Advisory Group
to establish the effective strategy on which the delivery of a relevant CPD
programme will ultimately depend. The creation of such a programme will
require you to undertake needs analysis with your target audience, whilst
forging strong relationships with potential CPD providers locally,
regionally and nationally. Expected to make a personal contribution to the
programme, you will also be tasked with promoting the Centre and it's
activities, working with the consortium marketing teams to raise it's
profile, and with the Director to develop new business and secure
sponsorship.
An experienced and innovative educator with a keen interest in progressing
science education, you will bring demonstrable experience of running
successful CPD, team management, budgetary control, advanced ICT skills and
evidence of entrepreneurial acumen. Add to this your excellent communication
skills and strong networking abilities, and you are perfectly placed to take
on what promises to be a genuinely exciting and rewarding role.
