Techniquest, the UKıs leading science discovery centre in Cardiff Bay has a
vacancy in its Education team.
It is seeking a part time Education Officer, Public Programmes to develop,
deliver and evaluate its programmes for leisure visitors at weekends and in
school holidays.

Reporting to: Education Manager, Public Programmes
The Education Officers deliver and develop the Education programme for the
public at Techniquest.
· The post is part-time working 3 days out of seven, including weekends
(usually Saturdays)
Salary: up to £14 000 pro rata depending on experience.
Person requirements:
Essential
· Scientific background or interest.
· Enthusiasm for communicating science for all ages with at least one
yearıs experience.
· Excellent presentation skills.
· Computer literacy.
· Ability to work independently.
· Interest in astronomy.
· Good written English.
Desirable
· Experience of developing programmes for the public.
· Experience of training and giving feedback.
· Fluency in Welsh would be particularly desirable for one of these
posts.
The main duties of this post will be to:
· Deliver the current programme.
· Be a key presenter for weekends / school holidays programmes.
· Research and develop new Public Programmes.
· Train and evaluate presenters.
· Provide continuity between weekdays and weekends by providing Public
Programmes cover for weekends / holidays in conjunction with the Education
Manager, Public Programmes.
· Work with the marketing team in the promotion of Public Programmes.
· Train and assess public programmes at Techniquest franchises.
· Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
· Conduct any other duties required of the post and of Techniquest as a
whole.
