Dear All
This is a request for ideas for places that could host an astronomy
exhibit...
The Royal Observatory Edinburgh recently exhibited at the Royal Society
Summer Exhibition. Our exhibit was about the recent discovery by ROE
astronomers of extra-solar planets around the star Vega. The exhibition
was extremely successful, in particular an eye-catching and elegant
video of an "orrery" or model of the planetary system, comparing it to
our own solar system was popular with students, teachers and scientists
at the event.
We are now looking for suitable events and venues to take the exhibit
to. The exhibit would be staffed by either the science team or ROE
Visitor Centre staff. It is aimed at an adult audience and includes an
introduction to the technology behind the science as well as the
discovery itself and implications for future work.
Some of the material from the exhibit is available through the following
links:

If anyone has any ideas of how we might use the exhibit please get in
touch.
