#01. Searching voices: Towards a canon for interaction design
Pelle Ehn, Jonas Löwgren (editors).
Interaction design is an emerging design discipline with a focus on
human interaction and communication mediated by digital artefacts. The
aim of this volume is to open up the issue of interaction design's
intellectual traditions. Six PhD students in interaction design draw on
canonical work in fields such as media studies, virtual reality, work
life studies and art to approach a better understanding of interaction
design and its theory.
ISBN 91-7104-010-2, 124 pages, 2003.
#02. Som en fågel i skogen (In Swedish)
Pelle Ehn, Jonas Löwgren, Peter Ullmark (organizers), Jannick Kirk
Sørensen (editing).
When Donald Schön passed away in 1998, a seminar was arranged in Malmö
in memory of his seminal work. In this DVD, we present parts of three
talks. Erik Stolterman provides a view on Schön in relation to
established notions of "sound" research. Bertil Rolf looks at Schön and
conventional scientific claims of truth. Jerker Lundequist addresses
aesthetics in relation to Schön's work.
DVD, 45 minutes (in Swedish), 2004.
#03. Design [x] research: Essays on interaction design as knowledge
construction
Pelle Ehn, Jonas Löwgren (editors).
How can design be performed as a means of constructing relevant
knowledge for other designers, as opposed to performing design in order
to create new products? This question is addressed in nine essays by
PhD students from interaction design, product design, and
human-computer interaction, providing perspectives and ideas for the
ongoing debate on the relation between design and research.
ISBN 91-7104-011-0, 114 pages, 2004.
