the RCN publishes a document entitled - "confidentiality RCN guidance
for OH Nurses" which is very useful. Also
http://www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk/eventual.aspx?id=245 a
consultation doc re data protection re employees health may be of use.

Subject: confidentiality policies
I'm having challenges !! with my HR department re confidentiality and
reports etc. I have talked to them, given them written guidance eg FOM
and
NMC guidance and they still insist that I am being "obstructive" in not
passing on information to them without consent.
Is anyone willing to show me a copy of their confidentiality policy so
that
I can try and create something without trying to reinvent another
wheel ....especially as I am fast running out of hair to pull out ??
By the way this may be my 1st posting - this forum is excellent - and as
I
am on the look out for work I find the job info of great interest.
take care
Shelley
