Hi
A member of the team has had employees demanding to have blood taken to
measure lead levels. These people have not been exposed to lead since the
late 1990's but they want to know what lasting effect exposure has had on
their health. I feel that lead levels would be pointless due to time since
exposure, but do symptoms of lead poisoning remain, or would they resolve
as the lead is gradually excreted via the kidneys.
Should these employees be screened by the OHA to see if any symptoms are
present, or should they have a physical examination by a physician?
As far as i am aware no environmental monitoring took place or health
surveillance.
I would appreciate any advise that anyone on the list can offer.
Thanks
Ann
