Dera Sue
We haven't given that many to be honest. Coincidentally I have just given
one and had no problems but did get asked lots of questions. After I
explained that the Department of health is concerned about the re-emergence
of Mumps and Measles and this is why we are not giving the single jab, the
gentleman was happy to have the vaccine.
As far as I understand it the controversy with MMR is regarding young
children and Autism and is not particularly controversial in adult use.
At the moment we still have stocks of Rubella vaccine that we potentially
could offer if the staff member was particularly concerned, this will
become academic in the future when the pharmacy stocks dry up and the single
vaccine is not replaced.
Hope this helps
Saghir.

Are you getting much resistance from staff for use of the MMR?
Deirdre

I work in a large NHS Trust and we have moved over to vaccinating
all
Rubella non immune staff with the MMR vaccine as advised by the WHO.
We
still have a few Rubella vaccines in stock but have been informed
that when
these stocks dry up they will not be replaced.
Thanks
Saghir.
