That sounds familiar. Money was provided to PCTs to set up services,
but in many PCTs has been absorbed into the general budget. There is
guidance from the DoH - and other good guidance documents on OH in the
NHS also. The GP and OH committees of the BMA have done a national
survey showing very patchy provision - Kate

I wondered if anyones knows of standards or medical guidelines on the
provision of an OH service to GPs. There was an attempt to set up such
a
service in my area through the Primary Care trust, although it never
got
off the ground.
Are there guidelines on health surveillance or pre-emplyment screening
etc
or do GPs just take care of themselves through mutual support?
Do any off the OH departments in the NHS provide services to GPs
anywhere
else?
Looking forward to any replies and thank you in advance.
