Marianne,
I should have written it out then but PASA stands for Purchasing and
Supply Agency for the NHS. They are what their name states, and supply
of agency workers in London are governed by London Agency Projects onto
number 2 now. The draft OH guideline proposals from came out I think
in May, these cover what is required to clear an agency worker prior to
being placed in the NHS. There are algorithms on the major diseases
such as Hep B, TB, Rubella, Varicella, Hep C. There are things like
HIV testing which is under consultation in relation to Exposure Prone
Procedures etc, they have also definitions of what specific skills in
each specialty is designated as EPP. Top of my head I can think of one
such as Midwifery, infiltration of anaestetic, suturing but not cutting
of episiotomy is EPP and attaching electrodes to baby's head is. I
hope this makes sense and excuse typo's.
Paul
