In previous employments it home visits had always been undertaken as a last
resort towards assessments for ill health early retirement /medical
severance. An HR officer/ advisor a welfare officer
or a convenor, had accompanied me and they had come in with me and after
introduction they left the room and waited outside or if the is a dinning
room or close enough for me to feel protected but not within earshot. After I
had finished they came in said goodbye and we both left. It is always safe
to go with someone ascertain the safety and left to consult in confidence
